Dare County Unemployment over 10% for November 2010

According to a recently released report by the North Carolina Employment Security Commission, unemployment numbers in Dare County, 10.7%, were double digit for November. It will be interesting to see, how the numbers change heading into the Spring and Summer.

This is an interesting article on BlueRidgeNow.com, Republicans should lower NC gas tax.
One thing the article highlighted that I was unaware of, Thanks to state lawmakers converting what was a ceiling on the gas tax into a floor, North Carolinians now pay 32.5 cents a gallon. That is 13th highest in the nation, second only to Florida in the Southeast and an all-time high for North Carolina."

Miracle on the Hudson plane coming to North Carolina?

New York Magazine is reporting that the Carolina Aviation Museum in Charlotte, is working to bring the plane to a final resting place in Charlotte.
"Charlotte’s mayor, Anthony Foxx, said his city was a fitting site for the plane because about 100 residents of the area were on Flight 1549 and because aviation is a big industry there..."
