Christmas Trees and the North Carolina economy

Here is something I was unaware of, North Carolina is the 2nd largest Christmas tree producing state in the country. This is according to the National Christmas Tree Association. As a state we trail only Oregon in number of trees harvested per year.
Looks like I will be out this week helping our North Carolina economy when I purchase my tree for the holiday season.
